School is back and we are quieter during the week from now on though you still need to book either by the booking form or our phone (09)292-9231.
The phone has an answerphone and it surprises me at the number of people who say I phoned and phoned but you didn't answer! We count on people leaving their phone numbers TWICE so we can call them as soon as we come into the office again. Often we are training the horses on the back lawn and hear the phone ringing but don't quite make it before the caller replaces the receiver. I think we have 12 rings before it goes on to answerphone.
Our petting area at the Clevedon Farmers market is going well with Dan, who is Gina's partner, holding the fort down there and telling people we are now working entirely from home seven days a week. We are only a few minutes from the showgrounds and everyone seems to be enjoying coming here as we do have a lovely view of Clevedon Valley and right over to Coromandel on a clear day.
Gina is now managing the farm. Her love of the animals and kind personality with our visitors makes me feel happy to know that everything is well looked after.
When you come for your party or farm tour, Gina will show you the rabbits which are her pride and joy and be aware that quietness and care are essential when you are with them.
Basic riding lessons are in demand. These will recommence soon. We do a 4 lesson course for $195 by appointment weekly Monday to Saturday. Maximum number is 4 students. Details under Beginner Riding Lessons. I am using 40 years of learning experience from national and international instructors for this course. I have always felt that we should know a lot more about horses before we jump on their backs and say "let's go!" and hold onto a bridle with a harsh bit in their mouths and steer them like a motor bike.
